Birth Photography can be created to document as much of your birth story as possible or we can plan to catch the final stages of labor and post birth bonding. They typically include about 2 hours post delivery to ensure there is enough time for both parents to hold the baby, feeding, as well as weights and measurements. On average, you will be presented with approximately 80 images in a private, in person viewing and ordering appointment hosted at my home studio which will be set for later than 3 weeks after your birth experinece (usually much sooner).
Fresh 48 sessions are photographed while you are still in the hospital once you have had a chance to rest or get cleaned up. They typically last about 1.5 hours to ensure there is enough time for different set ups, feeding, and soothing in between poses. Posed newborn photography is not possible in the hospital. On average, you will be presented with approximately 20-30 images in a private, in person viewing and ordering appointment hosted at my home studio which will be set for no later than 2 weeks after your session (usually much sooner).
It is imperative that you contact us before you have entered your final semester. If you are 3 weeks or less before your due date we recommend you select a fresh 48, or you can wait until you've gone home and do a newborn session, which is my personal FAVORITE. Keep in mind, since we use hospital, birthing center or your home for these services and prefer to use natural light mixed with flash, you will need to speak with your doctor or midwife to ensure that there are no issues photographing at that location for these services. If your doctor does not approve of having a photographer at your birth then I would suggest a fresh 48 or newborn session. ;) A travel fee may apply depending on the location.
