There’s something truly magical about those first few days with a newborn—the tiny yawns, the fluttery little eyelashes, the way they curl so perfectly into your arms like they’ve always belonged there.


I had the honor of photographing Sonya's sweet Baby just days after they entered the world, and this studio session in Princeton, MN was the perfect celebration of new life, quiet moments, and the deep love between mama, sister and baby.


A Peaceful Morning in the Studio

Sonya arrived at my Princeton studio full of love and softness, her arms wrapped around her tiny miracle. The space was warm, calm, and filled with natural light—ideal for those dreamy, sleepy newborn portraits. Baby settled in beautifully, allowing us to capture both posed and candid moments that highlighted their delicate features and peaceful presence.


We used a mix of soft, neutral textures and simple, organic styling—timeless tones that won’t ever go out of style. Every image tells a piece of their story: the stretch of a tiny hand, the way baby fit so snugly in Sonya’s embrace, the quiet connection of a mother savoring the first days of forever.


Mama + Baby Magic

There’s a glow that mothers carry in the days after birth, even through the haze of sleepless nights. Sonya radiated warmth and strength. I always encourage mamas to be in the frame—not because everything has to look perfect—but because these are the moments that matter. These are the photos your baby will cherish someday.


Together, we created a collection of gentle, love-filled portraits that will become heirlooms for generations.


Looking Ahead

If you’re expecting and wondering when to schedule your newborn session, the best time to photograph your baby is within the first two weeks after birth. My cozy studio is designed for comfort—both yours and your baby's—and I’ll gently guide you through every step so you can relax and soak in the experience.
