Fall Magic


There’s something special about fall in Minnesota. The way the golden light filters through the trees, the crisp air that makes couples instinctively pull a little closer, and the colors that seem to wrap every moment in warmth. Last fall, during one of my seasonal mini session events here at my property, I had the joy of photographing an engagement session that perfectly captured all of that magic.

Short But still very sweet!


Mini sessions are often quick-paced, especially during event days with back-to-back couples and families arriving throughout the afternoon. But one of the things I love most about these sessions is proving that meaningful, emotional images don’t require hours in front of the camera. Even within a shorter session, there’s still space for connection, movement, laughter, and quiet moments that feel genuinely like them.

As a Central Minnesota engagement photographer, my goal is never to make a session feel rushed or overly posed. Instead, I guide couples naturally so they can stay present with each other while I document the in-between moments—the soft smiles, the wind catching her hair, the way they instinctively reach for one another. Those little moments are what transform photographs into memories.

The autumn scenery at our property created the perfect backdrop for this engagement mini session. The changing leaves, earthy tones, and soft evening light gave everything a romantic and timeless feel. Fall engagement photos in Minnesota always have a way of feeling nostalgic, and this session was no exception.

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to know couples before their wedding day. Even in a shorter mini session format, it gives us a chance to connect, helps couples become comfortable in front of the camera, and allows them to experience what it feels like to simply slow down together for a moment.


These seasonal mini events are designed to be relaxed, simple, and meaningful—perfect for couples wanting beautiful engagement photos without committing to a full-length session. Whether it’s for save-the-dates, wedding websites, or simply documenting this chapter of life together, mini engagement sessions can still tell a beautiful story.
