The sweetest moments happen naturally at home...

Let's tell the story of these precious days

There is something especially meaningful about photographing a newborn in the place where your family is actually beginning its next chapter.

For Kaylee and her husband, that meant staying home — surrounded by the little details they had already dreamed about, prepared for, and made space for as they waited to meet their baby girl.

Their nursery was coming together in a beautiful mix of soft and natural details: white walls and furnishings paired with dark wood, along with one sweet pink wall decorated with delicate gray trees and deer. It felt personal to them — especially with her husband's love of hunting woven into the design.

And then, of course, there was the dog.

A big, imposing-looking half-Mastiff, quarter-Boxer, quarter-Bulldog who, according to his family, is really just the biggest baby ever. And honestly, those are exactly the kinds of details I love incorporating into newborn sessions.

Because your newborn photos don't have to be just about the baby.

They can be about the nursery you spent months preparing.

The dog who was there before the baby arrived.

The way Dad holds his daughter for the very first time.

The quiet moments between a new mother and her baby.

The little things that make this particular season of your life yours.

Why choose an in-home newborn session?

There is a certain kind of ease that comes from not having to leave home with a brand-new baby.

No packing everyone into the car.

No worrying about whether the baby will cooperate.

No trying to make your home look perfect before I arrive.

Instead, we can simply slow down and photograph your family as you are.

For families near Milaca, Pease, Foreston, Princeton, and throughout Central Minnesota, an in-home newborn session can be a beautiful alternative to a traditional studio session.

Your home becomes part of the story.

We can photograph your baby in the nursery you lovingly prepared, snuggled into your arms on the couch, tucked into bed with you, or simply resting wherever the best light happens to be.

And yes — your pets are welcome, too.

Even the giant ones who look intimidating but are convinced they are lap dogs.

Your home doesn't have to be perfect.

One of my favorite things about in-home newborn photography is that I am not there to photograph your house.

I'm there to photograph your family in it.

You don't need a perfectly styled home or a picture-perfect nursery. We can focus on the rooms with the prettiest light and work around everything else.

What matters is the feeling.

The softness of those first days.

The tiny fingers.

The sleepy stretches.

The way you look at your baby.

The people — and pets — who were already waiting for her.

Those are the things you will want to remember.

Because one day, that nursery will look different. Your baby will be running through the house. Your giant puppy will have a new best friend.

And you'll be so glad you remembered what it felt like when she was brand new.

In-Home Newborn Photography in Central Minnesota

If you're expecting a baby near Milaca, Pease, Foreston, Princeton, or the surrounding Central Minnesota area, I would love to create newborn portraits that feel like your family — relaxed, meaningful, and beautifully imperfect.

Your home. Your people. Your story.

That's where the magic is.
