My Family's trip to Valley Fair.

Some things that I learned this week...

  1. Family is the most important thing.
  2. Snuggling 30 minutes a day with your loved one is the best medicine.
  3. Be vulnerable.
  4. Crying into a loving shoulder is heaps better than crying when alone.
  5. Make someone else smile.
  6. Our time here is too brief to be unhappy.
  7. Don't dwell on things that keep you down.
  8. Find reasons why you are blessed right where you are.
  9. a)Change the the way you think about the things that are keeping you down.
  10. b)If (a) does not succeed then make a change.

Wednesday my family decided to go to Valley Fair. One of the perks of working for taco bell as a manager. Taco Bell paid for our entrance and supplied a lunch. That is good because it would be really expensive to purchase two meals there for our family.

The kids were excited for 3 days leading up to our trip they asked multiple times if they were going to the fair to ride bumper cars and slides and water park and were always disappointed when reminded of the countdown. The kids and Zac had fun playing in the peanuts play area. It is kinda cool inside. I was really surprised at how many child friendly options they offered.

The kids liked going on the beetles. They rode it 2 times.Camdyn and Hannah went on this ride together. I am so glad she got to come with. Not all of the rides are okay for a 2 year old to ride even with an adult. So Malakai had to sit this one out. I am not sure how many times the kids rode the train. Hannah and I ran over to the high roller and Zac took some of these pics while we were gone. The bottom seven are Zac's

Then Zac snapped a few of me waiving to him from atop the high roller. The close up shot is actually cropped waaay in because the image was shot at 24mm. and looked a lot like the zoomed out version.

We walked through the Dino area and the kids loved it. Though I think several of us had vivid dreams of being chased by dinosaurs afterwards. I know I did. And in the dream I was running away with my family. It is difficult to explain the route that was taken to get away from that T-Rex. Truly a unique dream. And a word of advice. Be careful taking your 2 year old through. It might scare them and make them have bad dreams...(experienced mom)

They have this area inside the dinosaur walk. It has a sand box and cement fossil Dino skeleton to dig up. The kids thought it was pretty cool.

After all that dinosaur fun we stopped for an ice cream at Ben and Jerry's.

I ordered a medium sized waffle-cone with chocolate peanut buttery swirl ice-cream and though it was divine, it was a bit too much ice cream for me. :)Of coarse before we could leave we had to ride the bumper cars for a second time. All the photos from this set Celine is drinking from the camel pack and Malakai is trying to get away.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.

We had a great time and would love to do the season pass but we would have to bring our own food because $15/meal/person is a bit too much for this crazy bunch. Remember to enjoy your family and keep those memories alive with photographs. I know I would not have been able to write half of these details without having these priceless images as a visual aide.

Have fun this summer and stay safe. Remember to connect with your loved ones daily. I recommend snuggling with your special guy/gal for at least 30 minutes everyday to help keep your brain positive.

God Bless!

My family's trip to Underwater world

Love Family
Love Family

My family decided that we would get a membership to underwater world this year. So we are going to take a lot of opportunities to go and enjoy all the creatures. As part of a resolution of mine to actually try to take more photos of my kids/family I decided to take along my camera. So here is the visual account of our trip; minus our extended stay at the exhibit with the manta rays. We really enjoyed how the rays would swim right up to the side and touch our hands. There was one particular ray swimming back and forth splashing people. So enjoy the photos. :)

Had a great July 4th yesterday. Even though Zac had to work all day I and the kids got to spend time with some really great people that I am lucky enough to be related to.

Had brunch at Grammy's house the pancakes, egg-bake and meat were really good. Unfortunately I was not taking pics of the food specifically so I do not have any to share. I brought ridiculous amounts of fruit but it was so tasty. My Nieces helped me get the fruit ready. Thank you for your help Kayla and Brianna.

After all that food and fun we came home and took a short nap so we were ready to see the fireworks.

Then watched some educational cartoons with the kids about independence day. And while we waited for the 8 o'clock hour to pass we went into the back yard and got a bunch of fun images.

After all that backyard fun we headed over to the fleet-farm car-wash to sit with Jed and Alaina and watch the show.

Aurilya's 8 month Pics.

I have had so much fun making images of my nieces and nephew. It reminds me about the reason why I started photography.

Isn't she just absolutely stunning?

The kids had such fun playing together when they came over on Tuesday too. I loved seeing my Sister and going thrift store shopping. A special thank you to my husband whom kept the kids out of trouble and suggested that we go for a walk. That day was very nice out. So before calling it a night we went for a little walk down to the park with all eight children. It is so fun to watch them play.

What is your favorite MN spot to take a break and enjoy life?

Have a great Friday everyone,

Nicole

"Perfectly Imperfect" the day to day life of family

OK so my kids are still young, I know. Camdyn turns 6 in April, Malakai and Celine Had birthdays last month making them 2 and 4. Even though the kids are young and though we try to keep life simple I know there are those that would love to learn more about family life in general. Though we don't get everything "right", we make mistakes we love and learn to forgive, I still intend to be somewhat open with the readers(with you). My goal is to give a realistic and sometimes surreal look into life as a family in 2015. this is my family...

We live in a town-home on a minimal budget. I do photography and my husband works full time. We have a renter to help pay the bills. We have been renting out room(s) for 6 years. We are ready to transition to not renting anymore though. So when Lonnie moves out we will probably live here by ourselves.

We live in a small city in Minnesota. We get cabin fever in the winter and spend lots of time outside in the summer. We do not go on fancy vacations to exotic locations. Some days we stay in our jammies and make the house a mess and some days we leave. Camdyn attends the academy at our Church here in town.

Erin and Jesse

MN Maternity Portraiture
MN Maternity Portraiture

Hi Guys, Meet Erin and Jesse. I had such a great time with this couple. I was fortunate enough to have them in the studio last week and am excited to have them in again in April for little Logan's Newborn Pics.

I just absolutely love making these portraits for my clients. I feel very fortunate to document these special times for them.
